My INDS Degree

My individualized UX design degree combines several disciplines to build both creative and technical skills. Visual and graphical design will sharpen my creativity and drawing techniques while teaching me to utilize design tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Canva. Information systems will give me the technical foundation to understand coding and the relationship between humans and technology. HCI (human-computer interaction) will teach me the key concepts that Ux designers need to succeed, such as understanding how humans think, behave, and interact with technology. UX designers need to understand how to make interfaces that feel natural and intuitive. It will help cover aspects such as usability, accessibility, cognitive load, and how people actually use digital products (not just their appearance).

Degree Mentors

  • Sidas Saulynas, Associate Teaching Professor, Information Systems
  • Luis Queral, Product Designer for the New York Times
  • Steven McAlpine, Individualized Study

Post Graduation Plans

I plan to go to graduate school to earn a master’s degree in Ux design

Courses In My INDS Degree

✅ Information Systems : My Human-Computer Interaction concentration focuses on how people actually use technology and how design can make that experience smoother and less overwhelming. Through courses in HCI, ethics, learning, and cognition, I’m learning how users think, what confuses them, and how to build interfaces that are intuitive, visual, and easy to navigate.

(IS 300, 303, 310, 403, 410, 480)

✅ Art and Visual Design : This concentration strengthens both the creative and visual sides of User Experience by emphasizing digital design, visual communication, and artistic principles.

(ART 200, 210, 211, 212, 214, 332, 336)

✅ Individualized Study: This concentration establishes a strong interdisciplinary foundation that connects design, technology, and problem-solving.
