Marquita Whidby joined UMBC in January 2023 as Administrative Assistant II for INDS. Marquita currently has an AA in Business Management from CCBC, along with a Professional Administrative Certificate of Excellence (PACE), and Microsoft Specialist Certification. Marquita comes from a background in the childcare field and transited into Higher Education positions in 2020. In her time here at UMBC, she has become a Summer Orientation Advisor, and an Assistant Teacher for the SEA Summer Camp for Kinetic Sculpture.
Marquita really enjoys her time working at UMBC. She enjoys working with the students on campus and getting to know them, “It really is a highlight of my day working with students that work and major in the INDS program.” She also loves bringing her family and friends to campus and attended the JW convention. “Two of the highlights I have of the campus is bringing my niece to campus to meet Misty Copeland. At that event she was also able to see UMBC’s president and 1st Lady of Maryland. Also, I was able to watch my cousin play on the UMBC court.”
