INDS B.S.: Science Fiction

Spring 2026 Capstone

My INDS Degree
Story consultant and teacher, John Truby, writes that the world’s need for the genre of Science Fiction has grown as the separation between science and art has widened. What Science Fiction does so well is that it seeks to understand how the world works by “melding … opposing modes of consciousness”; science and art. This degree plan describes a course of study that will support my development as a writer of Science Fiction. My degree plan will focus on the following areas of concentration: physics, environmental science, the humanities, literature, writing, and philosophy.
