INDS B.S.: Neuroscience

Spring 2025 Capstone
My INDS Degree
Overall, my undergraduate individualized degree in Neuroscience incorporates courses from Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, and Mathematics. The discipline of biology builds a foundation about molecular and cellular structures of neurons and details of the interaction of those neurons and other organ systems. It would also build the foundation for courses taught at PA school – specifically the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Incorporating psychology will allow me to understand memory, psychological disorders, as well as behavioral aspects of neuroscience. This discipline also incorporates key information about development that is critical for individuals planning on pursuing a career in healthcare. Chemistry gives a background in chemical signaling, which is an important aspect of neurochemistry as well as biochemistry. Learning these chemical processes and reactions are essential for understanding any biological system and how it functions both on the molecular and gross level.

Post Graduation Plans
My goal after completing my undergraduate degree is to attend Physician Assistant school and graduate with a Master’s of Physician Assistants Studies. After completing my Master’s program I would hope to become a PA specializing in Neurology or Neurosurgery. Then I will work hands-on to assess, diagnose and treat patients with disorders of the nervous system, as well as to assist with surgeries in cases that require surgical intervention.
