Chapman’s multidisciplinary track with INDS encompassed science outreach, race and ethnic relations, visual concepts, and gender to give her the skills to communicate in written, visual, and video format. Her work at UMBC included translating scientific papers related to amino acids and meiosis, into digestible language for general audiences. Fall 2023

During Rashid’s time at UMBC, he focused on developing an initiative that would help people gain food access in low socioeconomic neighborhoods. He used seven key steps of process management systematically to launch the Hot Food Initiative for Food Stamp (EBT) in 7 states across the U.S. You can read more of his work and future research projects: at his online portfolio here
