INDS B.S A Biopsychosocial Approach to Neurodegenerative Disorders

Spring 2019 Capstone

Music Therapy as an Alternative Therapy Contributes to a Holistic Model of Medical Care for Aging Individuals with Neurodegenerative Diseases

My INDS Degree

Just as each part of the brain integrates to create the functional whole, neuroscience, the study of the brain, lies at the intersection of fields from the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. My degree, A Biopsychosocial Approach to Neurodegenerative Disorders, is designed to aid in creating a holistic understanding of the biological and behavioral causes of neurodegenerative diseases within aging populations, as well as the biopsychosocial factors which impact the traditional therapies such as drug treatment, and alternative therapies such as music therapy.

Post Graduation Plans

My immediate post-graduation plans are to pursue an MD/MPH, and I will begin the application process this coming cycle (Summer 2018). Schools I am planning to apply to include: University of Maryland School of Medicine, Emory University School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, to name a few.
